Another evening was had out in Leeds last night. Feeling very tired. Tuesday night after my first day of work, we went over to Greg and Stacey's for dinner followed by a little Playstation 2. Think I have lost my skill when it comes to video games as I was once again beaten as I seem to be reguarly when playing Crash Bandicoot Racing.
Last night we went over to the girl's place. Jonny's attempt at a Pavolva was interesting, turned out to be some kind of great tasting dessert, but was NOT Pavolva!! Drinking games preceeded dinner which began to get a little out of control!
Perhaps going ice-skating tonight, but then again I am just as happy to have an early night. Weekend looks like it is going to be a big one!!
Plan to find accommodation here in Leeds. Think it is time to settle down

Survived my first weekend in Leeds. Friday night made it to a club at the University. Good evening, not including the fact that I didn't make it to bed until around 5:30am. Sorry to all those people I emailed when I made it in!.
Saturday night we went out to Mojos. Great bar, but extremely crowded. Went to another bar close by for a few more then onto a bar which served not only VB, but also Carlton Cold! Bit of a boogey, and also met a lot of people. Survived Sunday by playing Playstation for most of the day before heading out with my friend Charlotte to watch Ally, Friends and ER. (Sorry Charlotte for waking you up on Saturday morning by running into your room to let you know it was snowing!!).
Begin work tomorrow, will let you know how it goes.... Friday, February 22, 2002
Arrived in Leeds yesterday. Could barely sleep the night before thinking about transporting my luggage - for those of you have seen what I carry around, you'll know what I'm talking about!.
Suffering from a majorly bad hair day. Wind is out of control. Sun out though, so not too cold.....(how boring are my posts getting????)

After listening to the sadly highly contagious "one two smell my feet, I want something good to eat" repeated numerous times by a 7 year old, I arrived in Harrowgate via bus. Nice to be out of London and to be located in a bar literally in the middle of no where - loving the countryside!.
Quiz night last night was interesting (no, I wasn't knitting at the same time...) with the majority of questions either based around British history and soaps, or questions way before anyone from my team was born. It was fun to heckle the organiser of events though including constantly asking for hints and for the questions to be repeated (as if it made any difference!). Needless to say we didn't win.
Planning on heading to Leeds early next week, which means I won't be here to re-challenge last nights winners. The results difference proved they wouldn't have much to worry about anyway.... Friday, February 15, 2002
Jen, nearly forgot (not really), Happy 27th Birthday to you too!! . Only one more year until we can go to over 28's nightspots! Get your handbag ready!!! Living in a pub for a week in Harrogate. Probably not the smartest move as I intended to give up alcohol for a little while. Not really happening....
Happy Birthday Marina. I hope you had a lovely birthday.
Haven't been able to update my blog for a few days. Been very slow logging onto this page.
Went out last night to a night club. Since I have a love for being in photographs, I ended up having my picture taken with two strangers in one of those photo booths. Wonder who the lucky person is that will end up receiving the post card?? Monday, February 11, 2002
Good weekend.... Apart from Marlush, who I met through friends but only ever had email contact with for a couple of years until we met in Vancouver, I met someone face to face on Friday night who I'd previously only ever emailed. Was a good night, met a few people, and drank a little Guiness!
Saturday night we found ourselves down at the Brave New World drinking shots which were just awful. For some reason we all felt fine on Sunday morning. Think I will be alcohol free for the next few days... Friday, February 08, 2002
Tonight I am meeting some people in Leister Square who are down from Leeds. Hate the way pubs close at 11pm here....but I am looking forward to a big people meeting evening!
Alistair, I'm very jealous that Mr Kottke knows who you are. Very jealous indeed! Thursday, February 07, 2002
Whats wrong with me??
Its amazing to note that every conversation I have with people nowadays always turns to knitting. Second scarf nearly completed. Hopefully next work of art will be a little more exciting....
Over the past few weeks, I have discovered that there are many males out there who are proud of their achievements growing up by being able to French knit. Or as Jane calls it, Knitting Nancy. Nobody actually had a use for the long knitting sausage thing that it produced, but everyone seems to have had a "Knitting Nancy" sometime during their childhood... Tuesday, February 05, 2002
Brrrr.... Picture this, rainy, cold (wet clothing made it even worse) and damn windy (umbrella useless)....Talking with someone yesterday who commented that this is as bad as London gets. How could it get much worse?? Monday, February 04, 2002

Don't know what is going on with my blog - I need help not only for my haircut, but also to fix this page up!! The mullet Yes, I'm having a bad hair day. Wonder when the mullet will come back into fashion? Guess the wind factor isn't helping at all.
Marla teased me in Vancouver about a mullet cut I once had which I considered to be more a Princess Di look in her earlier days, but this hairstyle is out of control. Where are Ange or Simon when you need them??? |
