Funky Town Pseudo Echo, Brian Mannix and Scott Carne are playing in a tribute to the 80s show later this month at a few cheesy venues around Melbourne. Slightly tempted... Monday, June 20, 2005
June 2004 Saturday night - Leesa and Tanya chain-smoking, sending husband-to-be out for more bottles of Four Sisters and finishing up a night of constant chatter around 5am… June 2005 Saturday night – Leesa sitting on the couch knitting. Tanya eight and a half months pregnant ironing baby clothes. Both watching a DVD. How life changes… Friday, June 17, 2005
Already researching hotels in New York when in reality I won’t be taking any annual leave for at least 12 months. Doesn’t hurt to be prepared! (will attempt to put a countdown meter on this blog over the weekend – a 365 day countdown – can you tell I really, really need a decent holiday?!). Although on the payroll at work, yet to officially begin in new role apart from attending a couple of meetings. Hopefully handover occurs soon – interviews for current position supposedly taking place in a week or so. (going to be difficult to give up….) Fingers crossed for house hunting adventures this weekend…. $75 for an Oasis ticket? Contemplating... Monday, June 06, 2005
House hunted on the weekend. One place looked great online, smallest bedroom I’ve ever seen and no obvious place for a fridge. Was very bizarre… needless to say, I continue the hunt next weekend…. Was babysitting four children on Friday night. Put the two girls to bed and 3 year old Charlotte requested reading a book with a torch for five minutes. I was hesitant in allowing it as it was already 20 mins past their bed time. She informed me, "its okay, because I can't even read!". Was very cute indeed! Wednesday, June 01, 2005
Finally I have been offered a permanent position with the company I’ve been contracted to for the past 16 months. Yet to get too excited – want to read the contract before agreeing to anything! Looking forward to accumulating annual leave… Serious house hunting will take place this weekend. I am already venturing outside the areas I want to buy, but I also want to know what’s out in the market place so I don’t make the mistake I made a few months ago by not putting in an offer on my ideal apartment. May need to get a third or even fourth job if I am planning on paying off a mortgage and using all my annual leave to travel overseas! |
