A friend back in Australia has resigned from her job and is now relying on the radio "cash call" (and a little bit of luck) to relieve her of her financial worries.... Have planned quite a bit of travelling over the coming months. Newstories like this relating to terrorism really do make me nervous about flying... Saying that, I just purchased my ticket to Dublin. Woo hoo! Bring on the Guinness! Recently learnt fact: At 198 calories a pint GUINNESS® has fewer calories than a pint of skimmed milk or orange juice . Tuesday, July 29, 2003
Mark's "Art of Drinking." Very funny! No email 'worse than car crash'. Agreed! The stress I have put myself through worrying about my hotmail account reaching its limit if I don't check my mail for a few days, is just awful!! Monday, July 28, 2003
My ill housemate was taken to hospital by ambulance on Friday night. His inital request of a shower before the paramedics arrived was rejected, although he insisted on putting gel in his hair before leaving the house.... he has since returned home - and has been reunited with his hair products.... Finished The Diary of Anne Frank this weekend. Was re-reading in preparation for my visit to Amsterdam middle of next month. Finally going to see the "secret annexe" that Anne hid in with her family. Poor Melbourne... Friday, July 25, 2003
Its been raining for the past 24 hours constantly. Rain forecast for the next five days including thunder tomorrow. Hard to believe we are in the middle of summer. Nothing like my fake tan and BB finale tonight to cheer me up! Anybody in need of some Exploding Pie? Able to pick up in a few weeks time from France.... Thursday, July 24, 2003
New Photos. Durham, London, The Androids, Leeds.... I recently started back on some free weights. My poor arms are hurting... Wednesday, July 23, 2003

39.5 days of work left. Not that I'm counting or anything... Big Brother 4 UK comes to an end this week. Going to miss "Big Brother's Little Brother" host Dermot O'Leary... his yoga outfit made me laugh... Friday, July 18, 2003
Going to the travel agent tomorrow. Look forward to going there nearly as much as the solarium/sun bed... Let the new adventure begin!! Thursday, July 17, 2003
Two weeks ago I had my hair coloured and cut - regrowth was a little out of control - was happy with the result at the time. Since then, I had been suffering from very bad hair days, depression regarding fluffy hair had set in. Before I went down to London last weekend, my house mate, who often lends me her straighteners had to give me a 10 minute "pep" talk in order for me to be in the right frame of mind when straightening my hair. Thankfully, it worked... Wednesday, July 16, 2003
Congratulations Cathy. Cathy Freeman has not only retired after an amazing career, but also made the sports pages here in England. Only on the very odd occasion are female athletes ever mentioned in Britain. Do English women not play sport, or are the press only interested in featuring them when they are topless?? (not being sarcastic - many daily papers feature half naked "page three girls"....) Earlier today I paid £90 for a return flight to Amsterdam with Jet2. Just found out I could have paid a £1 each way (excluding taxes) if I had of waited and booked tomorrow. Not happy, not happy at all... Tuesday, July 15, 2003
I have a feeling life is going to be rather interesting over the next few months... Blogathon starts on the 26th July.... Monday, July 14, 2003
Returned from London late last night. My feet are extremely sore - walked for about five hours yesterday in uncomfortable sandals. My phone call with Jacqui on Sunday morning was hilarious (and greatly needed). With the insistance I start to eat Kel's sausages, I lost it. Dippity Bix and Fat-Free Fruche also had me in tears of laughter. Starting young - 2 year old Oskar has his own blog! Thursday, July 10, 2003
Plans to distribute marijuana to seriously ill and allowing same sex marriages. I doubt I will be around the day the Britain or Australian governments pass either of these laws. Canada rocks! Ewwww!! I am never travelling with Qantas again.... think a free Concorde flight sounds more appealing.... Wednesday, July 09, 2003
Recently learnt fact - "Taj" on Neighbours is the son of James Reyne.... Writer/comedian Pete McCarthy will be in Leeds for Rhythmns of the City. Can highly recommend Mc Carthy's Bar as a great book. The advertised £3.99 one way flights to Dublin, actually cost £29.52 return with taxes included. Still, as Jimeoin would say, "bargain!" and then do his little Irish jig!! And you really didn't think it would happen But it really is the end of the line So I'm sorry that you turned to driftwood But you've been drifting for a long, long time Have had Travis song in my head all morning... Have recently found out that there will be a "Chandler Bing" visitor in Melbourne later this year... New Stonehenge theory. Can't believe Mezz and Karen didn't work out the meaning of Stonehenge on their visit a few weeks ago.... Maybe I am a little jealous of being unable to do the one winged duck. $28 million would be nice.... Monday, July 07, 2003
Going out for drinks tonight after work to say farewell to some friends who are heading back to Cairns. The part I hate about travelling are the goodbyes.... There was a bomb scare involving Big Brother UK on Friday night. Friday, July 04, 2003
Not going to deny it - this summer (summer? Heating on and its raining...) I have developed a liking for the fine beverage known as the "shandy". Have been encouraged by a friend not to be embarrased about this, but instead to let my inner-nanna out! The Hulk premiered last night in London. I wish Eric Bana was still doing stand up as he is one of my all time favourite comedians. Have every episode of "Eric" recorded on video - absolutely hilarious series. Groovy Pants, Groovy Pants, Groovy Pants Gus. "I don't like Prince Charles!" This story makes me laugh.... Wednesday, July 02, 2003

Just noticed that I was a little heavy handed with the fake tan last night - especially on my left foot. My sandled feet will remain under the desk for the rest of the day.... Have decided I would like to go to Egypt. It will be 44 degrees in Luxor on Friday. Think I may leave it for a few months. A number of friends back in Australia are having a hard time with life right now. Wish I was back there to help - emails & phone calls just aren't the same... Thinking and Driving is a road hazard? |
